Debriefing is the most important element of simulation-based education, and we know that many practitioners find it the most challenging and daunting part of their work. This one-day course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to improve your debriefing performance and enhance the quality of the simulation sessions that you provide.

We will focus on covering the theory behind effective debriefing, discuss a variety of feedback styles including the Advocacy-Inquiry approach, and will introduce you to our iTrust debriefing structure. We will use a variety of video resources to demonstrate the skills to you and you will have plenty of opportunity to practice debriefing with expert feedback and coaching from the faculty.

• Become familiar with a variety of styles of feedback and how to select the most appropriate style for the situation
• Understand the iTrust structure and use it to deliver debriefs with real-time feedback 
• Explore some challenges and complications of debriefing

This course is suitable for anyone from an novice to an expert - some previous experience of delivering Simulation-Based Education (SBE) is helpful but not essential.
