SATS Difficult Airway Training Day

The Severn Airway Training Society (SATS) presents a training course focussed on the airway rescue techniques outlined in the Difficult Airway Society (DAS) guidelines. An experienced faculty will guide you through the skills necessary to manage any unpredicted difficult intubation:

  • The fibre-optic intubating bronchoscope
  • Low skill fibre-optic intubation via the LMA - with or without the Aintree catheter, and via the Berman airway
  • The intubating Laryngeal Mask Airway (iLMA) - blind and fibre-optic techniques
  • Emergency cricothyroidotomy - needle and surgical techniques
  • Alternative laryngoscope blades and new supraglottic airways

We will explain why we are passionate about this training, discuss the the DAS guidelines in detail and then rotate you through the five skill stations. The course is 'hands-on' - with lots of time to practise and perfect the skills. You will leave after a busy day with a clear plan A, B, C and D to apply to any difficult airway situation.
