SASICC (Simulation of Assessment Skills in Critical Care)
This dynamic interactive 2-day course was designed with the intensive care unit education facilitators in Avon and Gloucestershire Critical Care Network Group. The course was designed for those RNs new to intensive care in their first 3-9 months. The day uses both Laerdal’s and METI’s HPS Simulators to recreate all aspects on intensive care from admission, extubation, emergency intubation, sedation, fluid management and talking to families. The group presented their audit results as a poster at The European Simulation Society, SESAM in 2005. The group also ran a workshop at the 2005 British Association of Critical Care Nurses (BACCN) Conference held in Weston-super-Mare.
